Comprehensive Eye Care for Every Condition

Your vision is our priority; we’re committed to providing personalized, high-quality care to help you see clearly and comfortably every day.

Regular eye exams are an essential part of maintaining healthy vision — especially if you wear glasses or contact lenses. Routine checkups help us monitor your eye health, catch issues early, and make sure your prescription stays up to date. TruVision is proud to offer a full range of services designed to support your long-term eye health and visual clarity.

Eye Exams

On average, we recommend scheduling an appointment once every two years to ensure your eyes are remaining healthy. If you have been diagnosed with an eye condition, however, we recommend scheduling an appointment once or twice a year depending on the severity.

During your appointment, we will review your patient history, visual acuity, perform preliminary tests, and evaluate your eyes’ overall health.

Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are a popular and convenient alternative to glasses for correcting vision. They offer a wider field of vision and freedom from frames. Contacts can correct a range of vision issues, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. With a variety of types available — from daily disposables to extended-wear and specialty lenses — there's a solution to fit nearly every lifestyle and need.

Fitting contact lenses starts with a comprehensive eye exam to determine your prescription and assess the health of your eyes. A contact lens evaluation is then performed to ensure the best lens type, material, and fit for your unique eye shape and vision needs. Whether you're new to contacts or looking to switch to a more comfortable or advanced option, personalized guidance and follow-up care help ensure long-term comfort, clarity, and eye health.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration is a progressive condition that affects the macula — the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, detailed vision. This area of the eye allows us to read, recognize faces, drive, and see fine detail. As the macula deteriorates, individuals may experience blurred or distorted central vision, while peripheral vision typically remains unaffected. Macular degeneration is most common in older adults and is a leading cause of vision loss in people over 50.

TruVision uses advanced diagnostic technology to detect early signs of macular degeneration before significant vision loss occurs. During your comprehensive eye exam, we carefully evaluate the health of your retina and macula. If signs of degeneration are present, we’ll work closely with you to develop a personalized management plan that may include nutritional guidance, protective eyewear, and referrals for specialized treatment when needed. Our goal is to help preserve your vision and monitor changes over time with expert, ongoing care.

Cataracts

Cataracts occur when the natural lens of the eye becomes cloudy, often due to aging, though they can also develop from injury, certain medications, or medical conditions like diabetes. This clouding interferes with light passing through the lens, leading to symptoms such as blurred vision, glare or halos around lights, dull color perception, and difficulty seeing at night. Cataracts usually develop gradually and can affect one or both eyes.

Early stages of cataracts can often be managed with updated prescriptions and improved lighting. As they progress and begin to interfere with daily life, surgical removal of the cloudy lens and replacement with a clear, artificial intraocular lens is the most effective treatment. Regular eye exams allow us to track cataract development and guide you through the right time to consider surgery, with referrals to trusted local specialists when needed.

Myopia Control

Myopia, or nearsightedness, is a common vision condition where distant objects appear blurry while close-up objects remain clear. It occurs when the eye is too long or the cornea is too curved, causing light to focus in front of the retina rather than directly on it. Myopia often develops during childhood and tends to progress with age, particularly during school years when the eyes are still growing.

Management typically begins with corrective lenses such as glasses or contact lenses to sharpen distance vision. For patients experiencing rapid progression, especially children and teens, options like myopia control contact lenses, low-dose atropine drops, or orthokeratology (overnight reshaping lenses) may be recommended to slow further elongation of the eye. Monitoring and early intervention are key to maintaining long-term visual health and reducing the risk of future complications like retinal detachment or glaucoma.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, often due to elevated pressure inside the eye (intraocular pressure). This damage typically develops slowly and without noticeable symptoms until significant vision loss has occurred. Over time, glaucoma can lead to permanent peripheral (side) vision loss, and if left untreated, it may result in complete blindness. It’s one of the leading causes of irreversible vision loss, especially in older adults.

Routine eye exams are essential for detecting glaucoma early, as vision loss from the disease is not reversible. Treatment focuses on lowering eye pressure to prevent further damage, which may include prescription eye drops, oral medications, or in some cases, laser or surgical procedures. Monitoring intraocular pressure and optic nerve health regularly allows for effective, long-term management and helps preserve as much vision as possible.

LASIK Co-Management

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) is a popular surgical procedure designed to correct common vision problems like myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. By reshaping the cornea with a precision laser, LASIK allows light to focus more accurately on the retina, significantly reducing or even eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses. The procedure is quick, often taking less than 15 minutes per eye, with most patients noticing improved vision within 24 hours.

Co-management involves a coordinated care approach between your primary eye doctor and the LASIK surgeon. Pre-operative evaluations help determine if you're a good candidate, and post-operative visits are conducted locally to monitor healing and ensure optimal results. This continuity of care provides convenience, comfort, and expert oversight throughout your LASIK journey — from initial consultation to long-term follow-up.

Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetic eye care focuses on preventing, detecting, and managing vision complications related to diabetes, most notably diabetic retinopathy. High blood sugar levels can damage the tiny blood vessels in the retina, leading to leakage, swelling, or abnormal vessel growth — all of which can threaten your sight. Other diabetes-related eye issues include an increased risk of cataracts and glaucoma, making regular eye exams essential for early detection and intervention.

Care begins with a comprehensive, dilated eye exam to thoroughly evaluate the retina and optic nerve. Ongoing monitoring is crucial, especially if there are early signs of diabetic retinopathy or other complications. Patients receive guidance on how blood sugar control, blood pressure, and lifestyle choices directly impact their eye health. When needed, referrals are made for specialized treatments such as retinal laser therapy or intravitreal injections. The goal is to catch changes early and preserve vision for the long term.

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a progressive eye condition where the cornea — the clear, dome-shaped surface of the eye — gradually thins and bulges into a cone-like shape. This distortion causes light to focus improperly on the retina, leading to blurred, distorted vision, increased sensitivity to light, and difficulty seeing at night. The condition often begins in the teenage years or early adulthood and can worsen over time.

Treatment depends on the severity and progression of the disease. In early stages, glasses or soft contact lenses may correct vision. As the condition advances, rigid gas permeable or specialty scleral lenses are often used to provide clearer, more stable vision. In cases where the cornea becomes too thin or vision is no longer correctable with lenses, corneal cross-linking or even corneal transplant surgery may be necessary. Regular monitoring is essential to track changes and determine the most effective treatment at each stage.

Optos Retinal Exam

The Optos Retinal Exam is an advanced imaging technology that captures a wide-field view of the retina without the need for dilation in most cases. It uses ultra-widefield scanning to provide a detailed image of the back of the eye, including areas that are often difficult to see with traditional methods. This allows for early detection of a wide range of eye conditions, such as retinal tears, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and even signs of systemic health issues.

This non-invasive, quick, and comfortable exam can be performed as part of your routine eye check-up. It’s especially useful for patients who prefer to avoid dilation drops and the temporary light sensitivity and blurry vision they can cause. By adding Optos imaging to your exam, your eye doctor gains a more complete view of your ocular health, helping detect issues sooner and track changes over time with precision.

Clarifye SM Eye Exams

Specialty Medical (SM) Eye Exams go beyond a routine vision check to address specific medical concerns or symptoms related to eye health. These exams are typically performed when a patient presents with issues such as eye pain, sudden vision changes, floaters, flashes, red eyes, or complications from chronic conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure. Unlike standard vision exams, SM eye exams focus on diagnosing, monitoring, and managing ocular diseases and medically necessary conditions.

During an SM eye exam, your eye doctor will perform targeted testing and use advanced diagnostic tools to evaluate the underlying cause of your symptoms. The visit may include dilation, retinal imaging, visual field testing, and intraocular pressure checks, depending on your condition. These exams are billed through your medical insurance, not vision insurance, as they involve medical evaluation and treatment rather than routine vision correction.
